The concept :
In today’s research environment, exposure to bioinformatics training is something that anyone embarking on life sciences research is likely to need at some point. Furthermore, as research technologies evolve, this need will continue to grow. Bioinformatics tools help in realizing the potential benefits of human genome project by identification of disease susceptibility genes and the development of many new treatments, the ability to predict those patients at risk for experiencing adverse reactions or patients with a high probability. In fact, as a consequence of the introduction of high-throughput technologies, there has already been an increase in demand for training relating to the use of computational resources and tools designed for high-throughput data storage, retrieval, and analysis. Biologists and computational scientists alike are seeking postgraduate learning opportunities in various bioinformatics topics that meet the needs and time restrictions of their schedules.
Learning objective:
A progressive series of topics in Cancer Bioinformatics will be covered during five days course. Topics will be sequentially introduced such that students can gain mastery of recent advances in molecular therapies in cancer and using the available applications in a step-by-step manner culminating in the application of the publicly available tools and databases to specific Cancer research questions. Morning sessions will consist of lectures by invited speakers that will provide theoretical foundations on the molecular cancer therapies as well as exposure to how publicly available Cancer Bioinformatics tools are applied to specific research projects.
Date: the 6th to 10th December 2021
Who is concerned? Researchers involved in the field of bioinformatics, metabolomics, transcriptomics. Students and junior scientists are welcome to attend.
